The Dayton Visual Arts Center maintains a gallery space in downtown Dayton where the public is invited, free of charge, to view work by contemporary visual artists.
Ten to twelve exhibitions are mounted each year, including the Annual Open Members' Show, the highly anticipated ARTtoBUY Holiday Gift Gallery, and a preview exhibition leading up to the Annual Art Auction. Local artists' work is featured in all of these shows. Members have additional opportunities to show, at Juried Members' Exhibitions and Short Shows.
Major exhibitions are chosen during our biennial Call for Entries, which is open to all artists. The next call will take place in the fall of 2010; applications will be available online beginning in spring 2010.
DVAC's accessible gallery is located at 118 N. Jefferson Street, between First and Second streets.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday. We are open Thursday evenings until 9 p.m., and we are closed on Sundays.
